Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a highly experienced Lead Designer to supervise a team of designers and deliver mechanical and piping projects on time and within budget. The role demands extensive design expertise, strong project control knowledge, and the ability to mentor staff.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in Engineering Technology, SPED certification, and 20+ years in industrial mechanical/piping drafting.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Experience leading a design team and coordinating multidisciplinary tasks.
• Familiarity with department design and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to a design team and ensure on-time delivery of mechanical and piping deliverables.
• Coordinate work with staff and discipline leads to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Mentor junior designers and review calculations for accuracy and conformance to codes.
• Develop mechanical/piping installation specifications with engineering review and approval.
• Support startup activities with on-site assistance and field troubleshooting.
• Produce documentation from vendor drawings and ensure proper cross-discipline coordination.
