Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a lead designer to supervise a team of designers, directing mechanical and piping deliverables on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Extensive experience and the ability to mentor staff are essential.

You will produce P&IDs and GA drawings, review calculations, and support startup activities on site. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and Microstation is required, with SPED certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required.
• SPED (Society of Piping Engineers and Designers) Certification preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant industrial mechanical/piping drafting and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of designers.
• Deliver mechanical and piping deliverables on time and within budget.
• Provide on-site startup support and mentoring to staff.
• Coordinate work with other staff and discipline leads.
• Produce piping installation specifications and drawings (P&IDs, GAs).
• Estimate construction quantities and costs; lead staff to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
