Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors seeks a Lead Designer to supervise a team of designers and deliver mechanical and piping designs for complex projects. You will provide technical guidance, coordinate across disciplines, and mentor junior staff to meet scope, schedule and budget.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in mechanical/piping design, strong CAD skills (2D AutoCAD, MicroStation), and experience with piping materials, valves, and system sizing. On-site involvement during startup is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required.
• SPED certification preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant mechanical/piping drafting and design experience.
• Knowledge of piping materials and design of moderately complex piping systems.
• Ability to lead a small team to deliver on commitments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of designers.
• Deliver mechanical and piping designs on time, within budget and quality standards.
• Coordinate scope, changes, and design criteria with project teams.
• Mentor and develop staff; plan training and professional development.
• Produce P&ID and GA drawings and installation specifications.
• Develop construction cost estimates and project schedules.
