Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a lead mechanical/piping designer to supervise a design team and deliver piping and mechanical deliverables on schedule and within budget. The role requires extensive experience in mechanical/piping drafting and strong leadership to mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Engineering Technology, SPED certification preferred, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• SPED Certification preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant mechanical/piping drafting and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design staff to achieve scope, schedule and budget objectives.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced drafting personnel.
• Produce mechanical and piping installation specifications with engineering review and approval.
• Coordinate work with other staff and discipline lead.
• Check calculations for accuracy and code compliance.
• Develop construction cost estimates.
