Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks an experienced lead designer to supervise a team of designers in mechanical and piping projects. You will oversee delivery of drawings and specifications, mentor staff, and ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in mechanical/piping design, familiar with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation, and holds an Associate degree with SPED certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• SPED Certification is preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of designers to deliver mechanical and piping deliverables on time and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers and coordinate with discipline leads.
• Develop piping installation specifications and construction cost estimates.
• Produce P&ID’s and GA’s with engineering review and approval.
• Mentor staff and participate in training and professional development.
• Coordinate work activities with other staff and ensure cross-discipline coordination.
