Job summary

WSP USA Inc is seeking a Lead Pipeline Engineer to join our team and work from multiple offices including Detroit, MI. The role involves collaborating with global engineers to deliver pipeline solutions across mining, oil & gas, and water sectors.

The ideal candidate will lead design efforts, manage projects per WSP procedures, ensure safety culture, and support client relations while traveling up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• 7–10 years of pipeline design experience in consulting or operating company environments.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) required; PE preferred.
• Familiar with liquids/gas design codes incl. 49 CFR Parts 192/195, ASME B31.4/31.8, AWWA M11.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform field and office work, operating company vehicles as needed.
• Design pipelines across lifecycle—planning, FEED, routing, permitting, detailing, procurement, construction, and decommissioning.
• Provide routing studies, stress analysis, and pipeline mechanical design for liquid, gas, or slurry systems.
