Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking a Lead Pipeline Engineer to join our team across multiple U.S. offices, including Houston, Tampa, Kansas City, Detroit, and East Chicago.

You will lead pipeline design projects for mining, oil & gas, and water sectors, coordinating with engineers worldwide to deliver safe, compliant solutions. The role requires strong communication, a solid background in pipeline systems, and the ability to manage work across the project lifecycle from planning to deactivation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 7–10 years of pipeline design experience.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192/195, ASME B31.4/B31.8, AWWA M11.
• Experience with Pipeline Toolbox, AutoPIPE/CAESAR II, PipeFLO, AFT Impulse.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform work in field and office; operate company vehicles.
• Design pipeline systems across lifecycle: planning to deactivation.
• Support routing studies, stress analysis, and mechanical design.
• Coordinate field investigations and right-of-way planning.
• Prepare project funding documents and client communications.
• Manage project delivery per procedures and QA plans.
• Engage with clients in meetings and progress reporting.
