Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a lead Patient Billing/Services Representative to organize and direct front desk and scheduling operations.

You will coordinate office functions, train new staff, and liaise between patients, staff and healthcare professionals to advocate patient needs. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification within 1 month of hire, and experience with billing systems in a medical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
• Billing systems and third-party claims experience in a medical office.
• Strong communication, data entry and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor staff performance to ensure quality care and standards.
• Ensure appointments are scheduled per departmental procedures.
• Triage patient calls, tasks and emails with physician coordination.
• Manage providers' schedules, templates and master schedules.
• Coordinate staff training and act as primary trainer for new procedures.
• Arrange staff vacations and coverage; oversee timesheets and accruals.
• Plan orientation and development for new personnel.
• Order and monitor supplies and related services.
• Maintain competencies and participate in ongoing education and cross-training.
• Comply with OSHA and regulatory standards; provide backup during peaks.
