Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Patient Billing/Service Representative III for the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. The role leads the front desk team, coordinates schedules, and ensures HIPAA-compliant processes while acting as liaison among staff, patients, and providers.

The position requires a High School diploma, BLS certification within a month, and 4+ years in medical billing or related customer service. On-site at Creve Coeur, MO with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
• Billing systems and third-party claims experience in a medical office setting (4 years).
• Strong communication and confidentiality responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the performance of staff areas to ensure quality care and compliance with practice standards.
• Triage patient calls, tasks, and emails; manage scheduling and pre-arrival processes.
• Coordinate training and distribution of policy changes; act as primary trainer for new procedures.
• Assist with staff vacations, schedules, and coverage; support timesheet processing.
• Prepare reports and participate in quality improvement activities.
