Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Technician Field Services for project locations in Texas and Louisiana. You will lead field operations for complex testing and commissioning of protection and control systems in high voltage substations, coordinating with engineers and contractors.

You will apply extensive field experience with protective relays, set up relay testing with Omicron/Doble equipment, uphold safety standards, mentor technicians, and communicate

Qualifications

• Minimum 11 years in electrical testing, including medium/high voltage breakers and substations.
• Expertise with transmission, generation, or distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE).
• Advanced relay testing/calibration using Omicron and Doble equipment.
• Experience with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards and test practices.
• Strong field documentation, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex construction and testing projects, providing guidance and oversight.
• Perform testing/commissioning of protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
• Conduct on-site protective relay testing with relay test sets and document results.
• Mentor technicians, manage site logistics, and communicate progress to leadership.
• Ensure safety protocols, JHA adherence, and quality controls across work streams.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver tasks efficiently.
