Job summary

Genuine Parts Company seeks an Outbound Operations Supervisor to lead pulling and outbound shipping activities. You will design efficient methods for the outbound team, ensure proper loading, and uphold safety and quality standards, while fostering engagement and problem-solving among teammates.

You will supervise yard organization, drive cost-saving initiatives, and coordinate with DC management to resolve shipping issues while maintaining peak-period coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• 1+ years' experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
• Ability to comply with safety requirements pertaining to job functions and DC safety.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with others.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to use good judgment to follow detailed instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be capable of lifting/moving heavy items up to 60 lbs.
• Must be forklift and pallet jack certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervise outbound operations and guide team on how to perform work, monitor progress, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Design and maintain organized truck yard operations for efficient trailer organization, housekeeping, maintenance, and safety.
• Drive adherence to safety rules and ensure a safe working environment for all teammates.
• Assist with budget awareness and cost-saving process improvements.
• Provide leadership to warehouse associates, promoting engagement and problem solving.
• Address shipping errors with the team to prevent recurrence.
• Schedule team hours for peak periods and efficiency.
• Protect assets; ensure proper receipts and secure facilities.
• Lead efficient processing of outbound orders, cross/docks, stock orders, and special orders.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
