Job summary
Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Surfacing Process Engineer to own and optimize our in-house lens surfacing capabilities. You will combine deep equipment expertise with data-driven problem solving to lead the surfacing department and drive high-quality lens production.
You will program surfacing parameters across varied materials and designs, implement rigorous quality controls, and collaborate with OEMs, maintenance, and leadership to justify capital expenditures and align projects with
Qualifications
- 5+ years in optical lens surfacing and manufacturing project leadership.
- Proven ability to translate engineering data into actionable shop-floor improvements.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own daily surfacing operations and workflow.
- Program and optimize surfacing parameters across materials.
- Establish quality controls to improve first-time yields.
- Coordinate with OEMs and maintenance to maximize uptime.
- Build business cases and align projects with financial goals.
- Identify and execute cost, quality, and capacity improvements.
- Translate lens design files into SOPs for operators.
