Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Lead Mobile Diesel Master Tech to lead on-site and mobile maintenance for fleet vehicles, focusing on DOT inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance. You will mentor technicians, manage parts inventory, and coordinate with management to ensure high operational standards.

The role requires ASE certifications or equivalents, a valid driver’s license, and ability to work in a dynamic, mobile field environment nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years’ experience. Alternative: any level degree/certification with 5 years’ experience or 9 years in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE C1 (Service Consultant) within 18 months; obtain 608/609 within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/braking/cooling systems and engine electronics.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment; road test to verify repairs and functionality.
• Maintain and operate service vehicle; manage parts and documentation using TRAIT app and RO system.
• Mentor and support other technicians; assist Mobile Technician Manager in quality control.
