Job summary

Cox Automotive Fleet Services is hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced mechanical diagnostics in a mobile field setting.

You will work Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm, supporting a nationwide fleet with 24/7 call-center backup and on-site service options. The role emphasizes independent job site leadership, parts inventory management, and effective client communication to assess needs and resolve issues, using iOS-based tooling

Qualifications

• DOT inspections and PM for trucks in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling systems on heavy equipment.
• Communicate effectively with clients and customers on needs and status.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Perform minor and some major repairs on trailers and trucks including electrical, brakes, cooling and engines.
• Diagnose, test, and repair trailer equipment and truck systems; road test to verify; document on RO via TRAIT app.
