Job summary
Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting across our nationwide service footprint.
You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, while maintaining safety and documentation standards. You will serve as a lead on jobsites, coordinate with clients, manage parts and daily schedules, and
Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED required; 5 years related field experience, or alternative combinations with fewer years.
- ASE certifications or DOT-related training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light–heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field setting.
- Diagnose, repair, and adjust electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on trucks and trailers.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose defects; road test vehicles after repairs.
- Manage parts inventory on service truck and reconcile periodically.
- Document work and parts on RO using company TRAIT app; upload photos.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety regulations.
