Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field environment across light to heavy-duty vehicles.

You will diagnose, repair, and document work on trailers and trucks, manage parts and schedules, and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies. Strong diagnostic skills and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ related experience; alternative combinations with 3–7 years experience
• 3 years of refrigerated equipment experience
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments
• Diagnose and repair truck and trailer systems (electrical, braking, cooling, engines, transmissions) and related components
• Document work and upload RO findings using company devices; maintain service truck and parts inventory
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT; communicate with customers and management
