Job summary

Cox Automotive's Fleet team seeks a Sr Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in the field. You will manage a company service truck, order parts, and communicate with clients to meet expectations.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, independent planning, and hands-on work with trailers, trucks, and related equipment. A valid DOT card and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3–7 years in a related field; equivalent combos acceptable.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment requirements including background check and DOT medical card.
• ASE certifications are preferred to advance to higher responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a field/mobile setting.
• Diagnose and repair trailer and truck equipment, including electrical and braking systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings; manage parts and tools from a company truck.
• Maintain safety inspections and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT rules.
