Job summary

Cox Fleet in the United States is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics on mobile/field trucks and trailers.

You will diagnose, repair, and test electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems while maintaining documentation and parts inventory. The role emphasizes independence, client communication, and adherence to DOT regulations, OSHA, EPA, and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS diploma or GED and 5 years in a related field; alternative combinations considered.
• Candidate must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) and 608/609 within 18 months of hire and meet DOT requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and DOT medical/demonstrated safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light‑ to heavy‑duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems; diagnose complex issues.
• Inspect and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Document work on Repair Orders via TRAIT app; upload photos and measurements.
• Manage parts inventory, service truck upkeep, and safety checks; communicate estimates with management.
