Job summary

Cox Fleet, a leading on-site mobile maintenance provider, is hiring a Lead Mobile Diesel Master Tech - DOT. The role focuses on DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

The position requires strong diagnostic skills, independence, and customer interaction on site with field teams. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Cox Fleet operates nationwide with 50+ service centers and a 24/7 call center.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics and transmissions.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, diesel and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test and diagnose defective equipment using handheld tools and diagnostic instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and operate company-issued service truck with periodic reconciliation.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
• Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs and provide information or solutions.
• Prioritize tasks and manage daily schedule to maintain productivity and meet repair times.
• Utilize hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
