Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs in a mobile/field environment across a broad fleet.

The role requires diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, with a lead‑on‑site responsibility and a focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related field experience (or equivalent).
• DOT/FMCSA pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Ability to pass DOT background check and valid DOT medical card.
• 21+ years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light‑ to heavy‑duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose faults using test instruments and tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts on company service truck and document findings in RO via TRAIT app.
• Maintain safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections in compliance with policy.
