Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will handle electrical, hydraulic, and engine repairs, with lead responsibility on sites and direct interaction with customers.

Responsibilities include documenting work on RO, ordering parts, and ensuring safety and DOT compliance. A strong diagnostics background and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years in a related field or 5 years in related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools.
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• Complete all required training.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling systems, engines, and transmissions.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Manage parts inventory on service truck and reconcile listings.
• Document findings on RO using company iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and other required documentation.
