Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile on-site role across NYC area. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, document work, and coordinate with customers while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a strong toolset, ability to manage parts, and adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations; onsite service trucks and TRAIT/iOS reporting are used daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• DOT/FMCSA training or certification preferred.
• Ability to complete DOT pre-employment screenings and DOT physicals when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect and test equipment, road test vehicles, and document findings in RO using iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Coordinate with customers and management; manage parts and scheduling with a safety-conscious approach.
