Job summary

Cox Fleet in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and on-site repairs for light through heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, mentor junior technicians, manage parts and schedules, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Requires HS diploma/GED and ASE certifications with 5–9 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years’ experience.
• Alternative: any level degree/certification plus 5 years’ experience; or 9 years’ experience in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Obtain ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months.
• Obtain ASE C1 (Service Consultant) certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/Brake/Cooling systems, engine electronics, and drivetrain components.
• Inspect and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments; road test vehicles as needed.
• Manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck; maintain safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management and clients to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
