Job summary

Mercy Health in Warren, OH is seeking a Lead Medical Lab Scientist to perform a full range of laboratory testing and provide physicians with high-quality results. The role supports the Technical Specialist to enhance laboratory operations and efficiency.

Minimum BS in CLS or related program, MLS certification or eligibility, and 2 years of clinical lab experience required (5 years preferred). Strong attention to detail and professional interaction with staff and patients are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related program (required).
• MLS certification or eligible by a nationally recognized agency (preferably ASCP) (required).
• 2 years of clinical lab experience required; 5 years preferred.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of a Medical Lab Scientist.
• Assists Technical Specialist with new procedures and policies.
• Coordinates proficiency testing to meet deadlines and accuracy standards.
• Recommends system changes to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.
• Manages department schedules and updates time/schedules as needed.
• Maintains compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Other duties as assigned.
