Job summary

Redpath USA Corporation in Alaska seeks a Lead Mechanic to perform quality maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on diesel, hydraulic and electric systems for mining equipment such as jumbo drills and haul trucks. You will supervise and mentor a team, ensure safety, and coordinate parts and paperwork.

The role requires extensive hands-on maintenance, reading manuals and schematics, and the ability to operate service vehicles. Overtime and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• 7 years documented maintenance experience in heavy mining equipment
• Minimum 2 years experience in underground mining
• Preferred 2 years supervisory and training experience
• Full working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Strong leadership, training and communication skills
• Drivers license and clean driving record if operating company vehicles
• Proficient in computers and related software
• Reading and interpreting service and maintenance manuals and schematics
• Experience with OEM manuals and schematics

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals and electrical/hydraulic references
• Perform preventative and major maintenance and repairs and document work orders
• Test repaired equipment to meet manufacturer specifications
• Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and service trucks as needed
• Prepare accurate repair estimates including parts and labor
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and SOPs
• Mentor and guide less experienced mechanics
• Order parts and complete related paperwork
• Maintain safe and clean work environment
• Provide safe emergency repairs when required
