Job summary

Redpath is seeking a Lead Mechanic to perform quality maintenance, diagnostics, disassembly/reassembly of mining equipment such as jumbo drills, haul trucks, bolters, and loaders. You will supervise and mentor other mechanics, enforce safety procedures, and ensure maintenance is carried out per schedules.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, testing equipment, and documenting repairs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years documented maintenance experience on heavy mining equipment.
• Minimum 2 years experience in underground mining.
• Preferred 2 years supervisory and training experience.
• Full working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Strong leadership, managerial and communication skills.
• Must read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using service manuals and electrical/hydraulic manuals.
• Perform preventative and major maintenance, diagnostics and disassembly/assembly per work orders.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and service trucks safely.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates including parts and labor.
• Ensure safety regulations and procedures are followed on site.
