Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Lead Teacher for its Washington, DC Middle Schools to deliver standards-aligned instruction, foster an inclusive and identity-affirming classroom culture, and collaborate with grade-level teams to use data to support student growth. This full-time, in-person role requires strong family communication and a commitment to equity.

The position offers a starting salary of $65,500 with increases based on experience and graduate education, with a non-negotiable instructional salary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant content area.
• At least one year of teaching experience in a PreK3–12th grade setting or full-classroom residency.
• Commitment to serving students from communities with limited access to high-quality educational opportunities.
• Strong collaboration with families and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Teach standards-aligned, data-informed lessons.
• Build an inclusive, identity-affirming classroom culture.
• Collaborate with grade-level/content teams for planning and data analysis.
• Communicate regularly with families and support plans.
