Job summary

KIPP DC in Washington, DC is seeking an Elementary Lead Teacher for the 26-27 school year. You will plan and deliver math and literacy instruction, build a culturally affirming classroom, and collaborate with teams to support student learning and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; DC teaching eligibility preferred.
• At least one year of teaching experience in PreK3–12th grade or an education degree with student teaching.
• Commitment to working with students from communities with limited access to high-quality education.
• Teaching experience refers to the teacher of record / lead instructor responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned instruction in math and literacy for the homeroom.
• Build an inclusive, identity-affirming classroom culture.
• Collaborate with grade-level/content teams to plan, analyze data, and respond to student needs.
• Communicate regularly with families with academic updates and support plans.
• Serve as IEP case manager and monitor progress for students on the caseload.
• Support schoolwide duties and participate in professional development.
