KIPP DC is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 26-27SY. You will lead standards-aligned instruction, foster an inclusive classroom culture, and partner with families and school teams to support student learning and well-being.

The role is based at a KIPP DC campus in Washington, DC, with the starting salary of $65,500 and increases based on experience and graduate education. This is a fully in-person position with a strong emphasis on collaboration and student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required for teaching role.
• At least one year of teaching experience in PreK3–12th grade or equivalent.
• Commitment to serving students from communities with limited access to educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Teach standards-aligned lessons informed by student data.
• Build an inclusive, identity-affirming classroom culture.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams to plan instruction and analyze data.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
• Mentor and support peers or residents as needed.
• Deliver content-specific instruction as applicable (ELA, math, science, etc.).
• Manage IEPs and coordinate services with related staff.
