Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking an Elementary Teacher (26-27 SY) to lead rigorous instruction and build a culturally responsive classroom at a Washington, DC campus. The role emphasizes strong relationships with students and families, collaboration with teams, and delivering math and literacy instruction.

The starting salary is $65,500 and increases with relevant Lead Teacher experience and graduate education, as outlined in our instructional salary scale. This is a fully in-person position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Commitment to serving students from communities with limited access to high-quality educational opportunities.
• At least one year of teaching experience in a PreK3-12th grade school or an education degree with student teaching / residency.
• Ability to collaborate with families and caregivers and work with teams.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, standards-aligned lessons informed by student data.
• Build an inclusive, identity-affirming classroom culture.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to plan instruction and analyze data.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
• Contribute to schoolwide culture and community.
• Grow leadership through chair, fellowships, or leadership development cohorts.
• Mentor Capital Teaching Resident when applicable.
• Deliver core math and literacy instruction for the homeroom.
