Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher (26-27 SY) to plan and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in a supportive, inclusive environment in Washington, DC. You will collaborate with teams to support student learning, implement IEP goals, and foster a classroom culture grounded in belonging.

The role requires strong communication with families, data-driven planning, and commitment to equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and relevant teaching experience.
• Commitment to working with students from underserved communities.
• Ability to collaborate with families and school teams in planning.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to KIPP DC’s mission with equity and antiracist practices.
• Build trusting relationships with students, families, and teammates.
• Create a classroom culture that fosters belonging for all learners.
• Use data to plan reteach, intervention, and enrichment.
• Deliver standards-aligned, rigorous lessons.
• Serve as IEP case manager with progress monitoring and documentation.
• Collaborate with Related Service Providers for IEP implementation.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in planning and feedback.
• Perform duties to support instruction and school events.
