Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher for 26-27 SY to deliver standards-aligned instruction at a Washington, DC campus. You will plan lessons, foster a culturally responsive, identity-affirming classroom, and partner with families to support student well-being.

The role anchors at $65,500 with increases based on Lead Teacher experience and graduate education, per the instructional salary scale. This is a fully in-person role with daily on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Commitment to working with students from communities with limited access to high-quality educational opportunities
• At least one year of teaching experience in a PreK3–12th grade school or education degree with student teaching / residency

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, standards-aligned lessons.
• Build an inclusive, identity-affirming classroom culture where all students feel a sense of belonging.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to plan instruction, analyze data, and respond to student needs.
• Communicate regularly with families, including academic updates and support plans.
• Contribute to schoolwide culture and community.
• Mentor a Capital Teaching Resident by modeling instruction and providing weekly coaching conversations.
