Job summary

KIPP DC Public Schools is seeking a Middle School Teacher to lead engaging, standards-aligned instruction and to build an identity-affirming classroom culture in Washington, DC.

You will collaborate with grade-level teams to plan instruction, analyze data, communicate with families, and contribute to school culture. The starting salary is $65,500 and increases with relevant years of Lead Teacher experience and graduate education, as outlined in our instructional salary scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least one year of teaching experience in PreK3–12th grade.
• Education degree with student teaching / residency accepted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned instruction.
• Build an inclusive, identity-affirming classroom culture.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to plan instruction and analyze data.
• Communicate regularly with families.
• Contribute to schoolwide culture and community.
• Mentor a Capital Teaching Resident where applicable.

Education

Bachelor’s degree
