Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Supervisory Medical Support Assistant to coordinate MSA assignments and workflow within an inter-professional healthcare team at LaFolette Clinic. The role ensures coverage, schedules, and provides staff guidance across multiple clinics.

The incumbent will supervise scheduling, training, and workload balance while acting as a liaison to resolve day-to-day issues, with telework eligibility and Federal benefits.

Qualifications

• No substitution of education for experience at the GS-04/05 level.
• Proof of high school completion or equivalent required.
• Official transcripts may be required if using education to substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MSA assignments and workflow across an inter-professional care team.
• Ensure accurate and timely scheduling of appointments.
• Provide guidance to staff on policies and procedures; distribute and balance workload.
• Create and maintain employee work schedules and train new and current staff.
• Orient and on-the-job train staff; ensure training requirements are met.
• Act as liaison between MSA and staff to resolve day-to-day conflicts.
