Job summary
Southland Industries in California is seeking an experienced engineer to lead and mentor teams on HVAC, plumbing and fire-protection projects from design through construction. You will perform complex calculations, review drawings, and develop standards while guiding less-experienced engineers and responding to RFIs.
This role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, a PE license, and at least five years of experience in MEP systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant systems design.
- Strong ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans and documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead, design, and engineer HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Perform complex calculations for loads, sizing, and hydraulics.
- Develop standards, review methods, and inspect designs.
- Mentor and guide less-experienced engineers on projects.
- Prepare technical narratives for RFIs and project documentation.
