Job summary

Southland Industries in Fort Worth, TX seeks a lead mechanical engineer to design, evaluate and engineer HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems to project specifications. You will mentor junior engineers and prepare technical narratives for RFIs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, a PE license, and at least 5 years of experience, with strong CAD and MS Office skills. You will contribute to standard development and project reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• PE License required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, plumbing systems.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead calculations, drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection systems.
• Perform complex calculations (loads, sizing, friction loss, hydraulics).
• Develop standards, methods and procedures for design review and inspection.
• Direct and mentor junior engineers on projects and provide guidance on designs.
