Southland Industries is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in California to lead design-build and design-assist projects across healthcare, education, biotech, and commercial sectors. You will collaborate with model coordinators, estimators, and field teams to create practical, cost-effective designs using VDC and CFD feedback.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, 5+ years of experience, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years experience required.
• PE License required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as design professional at project team meetings.
• Prepare complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
• Perform calculations for loads, equipment sizing and friction loss.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with documents.
• Supervise or direct workflow of junior engineers.
• Provide conceptual design for specific projects.
