Job summary

Greystar Worldwide, LLC is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee and perform routine building upkeep, repair tasks, and make-ready work for vacant units at a Greystar community in Salt Lake City. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely responses to resident requests.

The position requires experience in property maintenance, use of hand/tools, and strong customer service. A valid driver’s license and EPA-related certifications may be needed for HVAC tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools and know safe use of tools and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to interact with residents and team members.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; property management system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills for financial and administrative documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep.
• Oversees the make-ready process for vacant units, scheduling vendors and inspecting work.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas.
• Inspects work by staff and contractors to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and coordinates with the Community Manager on supplies.
• Performs monthly preventative maintenance as outlined in policy.
• Assists in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Supports cost-cutting by fixing rather than replacing when feasible.
• Conducts safety meetings and maintains up-to-date MSDS and OSHA compliance.
• Delivers strong customer service by addressing resident questions and concerns.
