Job summary

Greystar in Salt Lake City is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold building standards, safety, and resident comfort across community grounds, exteriors, and interiors.

You will diagnose and repair defects from resident requests, manage make-ready tasks for new move-ins, and coordinate with vendors while keeping parts within budget. Strong hands-on skills and good communication are essential; EPA HVAC certs and a valid driver’s license are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience.
• Experience in property management maintenance.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools and be skilled in safe tool use.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management; PM system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills for financial, administrative and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects from resident requests and repair per policies.
• Oversee the make-ready process for vacant apartments and coordinate with vendors.
• Develop standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas.
• Periodically inspect work by staff and contractors and take corrective action as needed.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and order supplies within budget guidelines.
• Complete monthly preventative maintenance procedures.
• Assist in budget development for repairs and capital projects.
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure OSHA compliance.
