Job summary

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) to support the laboratory on a full-time 40-hour schedule with a 5a-5p shift, weekdays and 5a-9a weekends on an every-other-weekend holiday rotation.

The role includes training LTAs and students, coordinating daily workflow, and ensuring timely phlebotomy services under minimal supervision. Qualifications include a high school diploma and phlebotomy experience; certification is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Phlebotomy experience and lab experience required.
• Graduate of Phlebotomy Training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training of all new LTAs and students, maintaining current competency checklists.
• Coordinates and monitors activities of the LTAs on assigned shifts.
• Distributes work assignments and acts as a liaison between the Laboratory and other Departments.
• Has demonstrated advanced skills in specimen collection and computer troubleshooting (Meditech/LIS).
• Reviews specimen status regularly to ensure timely testing and proper documentation.
