Job summary

The Maryland Department of Health, Office of Enterprise Technology, is seeking a full-time IT Programmer Analyst Lead to design and deliver MMIS reporting solutions. You will combine hands-on development with technical leadership to ensure reliable, maintainable systems.

You will mentor programmer analysts, analyze requirements, document specs, and provide on-call support to maintain performance and solve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications using generally accepted programming languages or tools.
• Experience converting data from project specifications by writing program code.
• Substitution options available for education/experience as listed in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of programming solutions supporting MMIS reporting and business operations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and work direction to programmer analysts, including training and quality review of deliverables.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable application and reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and procedures for reliability and knowledge transfer.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and provide on-call support as needed.
