Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to propel Continuous Improvement initiatives across our operations. You will drive change through data analytics, Lean, and automation, partnering with General Managers and Directors to raise safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

You will lead high-impact CI projects, mentor teams, and deliver tangible results using a structured improvement framework and VSM/Kaizen events. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years (or Master’s with 5+ years) in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) is required.
• Data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis to identify process gaps and drive value.
• Leads high impact CI projects across the operation.
• Applies lean tools and CI methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
• Coaches teams in lean methods and manages CI resources as needed.
• Delivers regular CI progress reports and supports audits and certifications.
