Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across its operations using data analytics, Lean tools and automation to boost safety, quality, delivery and cost performance. You will interface with employees at all levels and may manage CI resources and report to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager.

The role collaborates closely with a General Manager or Director of Operations and requires strong leadership of cross-functional CI projects. Travel is up to 10%–15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degrees as listed with relevant experience in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• 7+ years in related roles; MBA requires engineering undergrad.
• Advanced Excel, Access, PowerPoint; Visio; Power BI/Tableau data viz.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent methodology experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs statistical analysis, maps processes and closes gaps.
• Manages high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Coaches teams in CI, QA and Lean principles and leads Kaizen events.
• Supports automation projects and coordinates with account management.
• Delivers regular progress reports and supports QMS and corrective actions.
• May supervise CI engineers and participate in hiring decisions.
