Job summary

Walmart in Hueytown, AL is seeking an HVAC/R technician to install and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. You will read plans, calibrate direct digital controls, perform preventive maintenance, and resolve issues in coordination with managers and technicians.

The role includes leading field teams, adhering to OSHA and EPA protocols, operating company vehicles, and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels.
• Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
• Implements preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Leads field teams and mentors apprentices on procedures and safety.
• Coordinates service calls and documents work orders and warranties.
