Job summary

Walmart Hueytown is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician to install, configure, and maintain refrigeration and building systems across multiple sites. You will interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams, diagnose issues, and coordinate repairs with teams and external providers as needed.

Responsibilities include on-site service calls, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with building codes and EPA refrigerant handling standards.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels.
• Configures direct digital controls to meet specs and codes.
• Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
• Leads field teams and mentors technicians and apprentices on procedures and safety.
