Job summary

Walmart is looking for a skilled HVAC/R technician to install and service HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. You will interpret plans, calibrate controls, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and energy efficiency.

This role requires mentoring junior technicians, coordinating with customers, and adhering to safety standards. Based in Hueytown, AL, the position is on-site with opportunities for on-call duties and premium pay.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass MVR; clean driving record as required.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and controls.
• Maintains supermarket refrigeration units and walk-ins; performs preventive maintenance.
• Leads field teams and mentors apprentices; coordinates with customers and external providers.
• Drives company vehicle to service calls; participates in on-call rotations.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling requirements.
