Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced HVAC and refrigeration technician for its Hoover, AL area. You will install and calibrate systems, interpret schematics, and ensure compliance with building codes while maintaining and repairing store refrigeration units.

You will lead field teams, mentor Apprentices, coordinate with service providers, and train on safety practices. Strong communication with customers and adherence to OSHA/EPA standards are required; on-call rotations may apply.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years' mechanical maintenance or construction experience.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field.
• EPA 608 refrigerant handling certification for refrigerant management.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems including ductwork and controls.
• Interprets plans and schematics to ensure proper system setup.
• Maintains and repairs supermarket refrigeration units and related equipment.
• Leads field teams and mentors Apprentices on safety practices and procedures.
