Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Engineer VI - Engineering Services to lead detailed engineering designs for high voltage substation and transmission projects up to 500 kV. The role requires extensive experience and the ability to deliver advanced engineering solutions for complex projects.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with stakeholders, and provide technical leadership across multiple projects while ensuring adherence to Mortenson standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering program.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is expected or can be acquired within 6 months.
• Minimum fifteen (15) years related work experience.
• Experience in the T&D industry.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the relay protection & control engineering aspects on substation and transmission design projects.
• Act as a technical specialist who develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and new approaches to complex problems.
• Interface and present to multiple stakeholders (customer decision makers, project teams).
• Provide engineering support for proposals, estimating, procurement and construction.
• Lead team members by example and coach junior engineers.
