Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent II in the Power Delivery Group to coordinate, plan, and supervise field activities for electrical projects in Texas. You will lead Assistant Electrical Superintendents and crews, ensuring safe, on-time delivery of underground cabling, overhead lines, and substations while maintaining high quality and compliance with drawings and specs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 10+ years in HV/MV

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Min 10 years’ experience with high/medium voltage equipment and substation construction.
• Min 13 years supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with high/medium voltage cables testing equipment and methods.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, duct banks, and substation construction.
• Current driver’s license.
• 100% travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical projects ensuring high-quality installation of underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation work.
• Supervise installation of collection system and connections to the distribution system.
• Provide drawing reviews and feedback with engineering team on materials and workmanship.
• Assist Sr. Superintendent with formwork selection, equipment sizing, and schedules (three-week look-ahead).
• Ensure resources and quality control for self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Monitor safety plans and OSHA reporting; enforce Zero Injury Program.
• Participate in meetings aligning field and engineering on drawings and specs.
• Oversee safety data tracking, injury statistics, and major incident analysis.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and forepersons; evaluate performance.
• Maintain relationships with visitors and resolve union issues.
