Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Engineer VI - Engineering Services to lead detailed engineering designs for high voltage substation and transmission projects through 500 kV. The role requires extensive experience and advanced engineering knowledge across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

The engineer will provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, review vendor drawings, and collaborate with customers and project teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with Mortenson standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license expected or can be acquired within 6 months.
• Minimum fifteen (15) years related work experience.
• Experience in the T&D industry.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the relay protection & control engineering aspects on substation and transmission design projects.
• Provide technical leadership on large and small design projects across 69Kv and above scopes.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and Design Phase Managers to deliver design projects.
• Mentor, coach and develop junior team members.
• Review and approve equipment vendor drawings and sign off on testing reports.
